As Artistic Director and choreographer for 6’, Toni Leago Valle combines writing, acting, and dance to create multi-sensual works that challenge the audience to address current political and sociological issues.  

 

Valle is trained in contemporary, modern, and aerial dance.  Valle is Professor of Practice at University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance, where she teaches Dance Production, Marketing for Entrepreneurs, and Introduction to Dance, is production faculty overseeing three repertory concerts per year, and serves in recruiting new students.  Valle is currently and has been the Company Manager for Karen Stokes Dance since 2010. Valle is a certified level 1 aerial instructor and a certified Level 1 GYROTONIC(R) Method instructor.  She was recently featured as one of four Texas aerialists in Arts and Culture Texas Magazine: http://artsandculturetx.com/flying-high-above-the-texas-sky-aerial-dance-takes-off-in-the-lone-star-state/?fbclid=IwAR0WG1PD6EXhl6EZBURT8CcI3jD_-BXiTKwgRNcfFJJSWE_3J5LXSDPHwhM  

 

Valle has received awards and residencies to produce 7 evening length dance concerts and numerous individual works over her 20-year career.   Her choreography has been seen at DiverseWorks, JCC, University of Houston, San Jacinto College, HSPVA/Houston, Freneticore Theatre’s Fringe Festival and various art openings and outdoor events.  Valle premiered her latest work, Never Again, in 2018, a vaudevillian look at Texas Legislation and the Resistance, to 5 SOLD OUT performances. Recently, Valle returned for a second year to present her newest work, HUMAN, at the Houston Women's March 2020.
